Prince Leo and the Changeling
About
In the magical realm of the Golden Glen, young Prince Leo lives a joyful life among talking trees, fairy friends, and woodland creatures. On his birthday, while he celebrates with his fairy siblings Mayra and Reed, a dark enchantment is cast in the human world: a changeling, an imposter child, replaces Leo in the royal castle.
Unaware of the switch, Queen Delaney, Leo’s mother, senses something is wrong. Her sisters, Aunt Kelsey, a sensitive healer, and Aunt Elizabeth, a powerful mage, help uncover the truth through a magical vision. Together, they realize the real Leo has been hidden by Queen Morganta, a dark fairy queen who seeks to steal his light.
To rescue him, a brave quest is formed. Led by Lord Parker, Leo’s uncle, the rescue party includes the wise wizard Elandor, kind elf Bobbi, and jolly dwarf Thrain. As they journey through a haunted forest, glowing firefly trails, riddle-speaking bears, and ancient trees, they receive magical gifts and clues from forest guardians like Mary Maple and Lady Blackberry.
Eventually, the friends find Leo asleep inside a glowing flower in the Golden Glen. With the power of friendship, music, and hope, symbolized by a glowing seed gifted by Mary Maple, they awaken Leo and dissolve the shadow spell. The changeling vanishes peacefully, and Leo is joyfully returned home.
The story ends with the message that true magic lies in love, bravery, and the bonds of family and friendship, a high-frequency tale of light overcoming darkness, written for readers ages 6–10.
